Traditional weddings can be updated to be more fun, making the
audience laugh more and cry less, and poetic vows can make ceremonies still
seem formal even if the words are not traditional. The copyright is to give our
family credit for writing and testing these new, poetic vows in Angel and
Cesar’s Wedding of the Year. Other couples may borrow from, use, or customize
these vows for free.

Welcome family and friends and loved
ones. We are gathered today here to witness this loving union of FillintheBlank and FillintheBlank.
We are here to attest to the power of two people in love and their
willingness to share it with us today. On this most sacred day we ask the
powers that be to bless this union, this divine matrimony. We ask that this
couple be spared any misfortunes and mishaps.
Protect them from as they proceed in this journey and let their mistakes be
met with mercy. That the life ahead of them be filled with honesty, harmony,
and most of all, with lots of love. |

Background:
Paul remembered that the traditional vows he and Cheryl exchanged
in 1995 at the Towson, MD county courthouse seemed already out of date 30 years
ago. He wrote the initial draft wedding ceremony soon after Cesar and Angel
were engaged in April 2024, with some revisions from Angel. The first version
required the couple to repeat the same words at the same time which was not
very practical or elegant, especially if the bride and groom each prefer
different vows. The June 2025 version includes vows revised by Cesar and Angel
plus a music playlist selected mostly by Cesar. Their official was Cesar’s Mom
Jessica who did a great job of conducting the ceremony with no rehearsal only 2
days after first seeing the draft plans.
Everyone at their June 9, 2025 wedding on
the beach at Jupiter, FL had a great time.
Potential wedding songs considered but not selected.
Here comes the bride Reggae version for the beach.
"How
Sweet It Is" either Marvin Gaye's original version or James Taylor's cover.
